Fly to the necropolis

Choose the size
The group leader picks a 10- or 25-player raid: right-click the portrait → “Raid Difficulty”.
Quarters in any order
All four quarters are open from the start. Once they are all cleared, a passage to Sapphiron and Kel'Thuzad opens in the center.
Bosses
1. Anub'Rekhan
spider lord- Locust Swarm — hits everyone around him for several seconds. The tank kites the slowed boss around the room while the raid keeps its distance.
- Impale — a line of spikes knocks everyone in its path into the air. Don't bunch up behind a single player.
- Corpse Scarabs rise from the dead — kill them right away.
2. Grand Widow Faerlina
cult priestess- Frenzy — increases her damage. It is removed by killing a Worshipper next to her: “Widow's Embrace” removes the frenzy.
- Rain of Fire — get out of the fire immediately. Poison Bolt Volley — hits the whole raid; healers keep health up.
3. Maexxna
spider queen- Web Wrap — a player gets stuck to the wall; ranged DPS free them.
- Web Spray stuns everyone every ~40 seconds — top off the tank before it.
- Spiderlings come out in waves; at 30% health Maexxna goes into a frenzy.
4. Noth the Plaguebringer
necromancer- Curse of the Plaguebringer — remove it immediately, or after a while it will kill.
- He goes up to the balcony and summons skeletal warriors — tanks gather them up and DPS use AoE.
5. Heigan the Unclean
plague dance- The dance: the floor is split into four lanes, and plague erupts along them in waves. Follow the wave, moving from lane to lane.
- In the second phase Heigan goes up to his platform — the waves come twice as fast. Decrepit Fever — dispel the disease.
6. Loatheb
giant fungus- Necrotic Aura blocks healing; you can only heal during short 3-second windows.
- Kill spores near your DPS — they grant +50% critical strike chance.
- Inevitable Doom — ever-increasing Shadow damage to everyone: the fight is a race.
7. Instructor Razuvious
death knight instructor- He is tanked by the Death Knight Understudies: players take control of them through the Obedience Crystal and hold the boss in turns.
- Disrupting Shout — heavy damage to everyone nearby; ranged stay farther away.
8. Gothik the Harvester
hall of the living and the dead- The room is split by a gate: half the raid is on the living side, half on the dead side.
- Enemies killed on the living side come back as spirits on the dead side — the other half finishes them off.
- After four and a half minutes the gate opens and Gothik comes down to the raid.
9. The Four Horsemen
Korth'azz, Rivendare, Zeliek, Blaumeux- The four horsemen stand in the corners and apply stacking marks. Tanks swap horsemen before the marks stack too high.
- All four must be killed. The loot is in a chest after the fight.
10. Patchwerk
DPS race- Hateful Strike hits the healthiest player in his melee range — you need two or three tanks at full health.
- Enrage after six minutes. This is a test of the raid's damage.
11. Grobbulus
mutant slime- Mutating Injection — the infected player runs to the edge, where a poison cloud will appear.
- The clouds stay on the floor — the tank kites the boss in a circle; don't step into the green.
12. Gluth
corpse eater- Mortal Wound reduces healing on the tank — swap.
- Decimate drops everyone's health to 5%; zombies run to Gluth to heal him — slow and kill them.
13. Thaddius
reanimated amalgam- First come Stalagg and Feugen on two platforms. Kill them almost simultaneously, or the second will revive the first.
- Polarity Shift: everyone gets a “+” or a “−”. Stand only with players of your own charge.
14. Sapphiron
frost wyrm- Constant Frost damage to everyone — Frost resistance comes in handy.
- In the air he freezes players into ice blocks, then hits with Frost Breath — hide behind the ice blocks.
- Life Drain — remove the curse.
15. Kel'Thuzad
master of the necropolis- The first few minutes are waves of minions: skeletons, abominations and soul weavers. The lich himself is invulnerable during this time.
- Frostbolt — interrupt it. Detonate Mana — the target runs away from others. Shadow Fissure — move out immediately.
- At 45% the Guardians of Icecrown arrive — bind them with “Shackle Undead”.
Loot
| Mode | Item level | Per boss |
|---|---|---|
| 10 players | ilvl 200, Kel'Thuzad — 213 | Emblem of Heroism (Sapphiron and Kel'Thuzad — 2) |
| 25 players | ilvl 213, Kel'Thuzad — 226 | Emblem of Valor (Sapphiron and Kel'Thuzad — 2) |
Bosses drop T7 set tokens. The Four Horsemen's loot is in the chest that appears after the fight.
Tips
Noth, Heigan and Sapphiron punish inattentive healers. Keep your dispels ready.
Patchwerk, the Four Horsemen and Gluth require tank swaps.
The lockout lasts a week: you can clear a couple of quarters today and the rest later.
Naxxramas is the easiest raid. It's a convenient place to gear up newcomers.
