The dungeon at a glance

Mogu'shan Vaults is a custom Valor dungeon ported from Mists of Pandaria: a vast palace-vault of the ancient mogu empire. Inside are six bosses, nearly 350 stone guardians, and ilvl 277 loot. Boss health ranges from 3.3 to 5.6 million, just like raid bosses, so it's worth going in with a coordinated, well-geared group of five.

Getting in and out

Mogu'shan Gates at Wyrmrest Temple
Mogu'shan Gates — the lower level of Wyrmrest Temple.
  1. Get to Wyrmrest Temple

The temple stands in the center of Dragonblight. Go down to the very bottom level — the same place as the portals to the Obsidian and Ruby Sanctums.

  2. Choose the difficulty

Group leader: right-click your portrait → “Dungeon Difficulty” — Normal or Heroic. The Heroic lockout lasts one day and resets at 07:00 MSK.

  3. Enter the gates

Step into the “Mogu'shan Gates” portal — you'll be transported inside, to the start of the vault. Mounts can't be used inside.

  4. How to leave

One exit portal stands right by the entrance, and a second one is in Elegon's hall after the final fight. Both take you back to the gates at Wyrmrest Temple.

Map and boss order

The path from the entrance to the last hall is about fifteen hundred yards. The bosses stand along the way in this order:

  • Boulder Toss — hurls a rock at a random player: about 2.4–3.2k physical damage.
  • An endurance fight: keep your healer in good shape and don't get in the tank's way.
The vault is sealed. You are not on the list.

2. Feng the Accursed

3.68 million health

  • Arc Lightning — hits a random player for 3.2–3.8k Nature damage; the shock jumps to those nearby — don't stack up.
  • Lightning Nova — a 5-second cast, then 6–7k damage to everyone within 20 yards. See the cast — run.
  • Pulsing Shockwave — constant damage to the group, stronger the farther you are from Feng. Stay close between novas.
Mortals. How timely — I was just running short of fresh deaths.

3. The Spirit Kings

4.02 million health + spirit adds
  • Black Wound — hits the tank for half of their current health.
  • Shadow Bolt — fired at a random player. Rumbling Stomp — a 3-second cast, then damage to everyone in the hall.
  • At 70% health it summons the first Kingly Spirit, and two more at 35%. The spirits have a million health each, Black Wound, and Wounding Strike: a bleed plus −25% healing received.
Four of us fell in this hall. Four of us shall rise.

4. Gara'jal the Spiritbinder

  • At 25% health it enrages — the statue glows white-hot.
The Emperor sleeps. His will does not.

6. Elegon

5.58 million health — the final boss

  • Phase Punch — 8.8–10.2k damage to the tank and a debuff for 45 seconds.
  • Cosmic Smash — a strike from the sky on the spot where players are standing: move away from the impact point.
  • At 30% health it enrages — it overloads the circuit and the hall fills with light.
Clearance check. Denied. Commencing elimination.

Tips

Icecrown Citadel gear required

Bosses have 3–5 million health each, guardians 400–800k each. There's nothing for you here in starter level 80 gear.

The tank has to hold up

The Spirit Kings' Black Wound takes half of the tank's health, and Elegon's Phase Punch hits for up to 10k at a time.

Feng: spread out and keep your distance

Spread out for Arc Lightning, and run 20 yards away from Lightning Nova. Then come back closer.

Will of the Emperor punishes melee

The debris hits everyone within 10 yards, and the stomp stuns within 5. Ranged DPS have an easier time here.
